Last year was a great year for collections. This is our 7th year. Thanks to all of you who donated pajamas and books. This year it would be fun to do more.
The lady who is running this program was telling me that she got involved because one of her friends adopted 2 foster kids. These 2 kids showed up with literally nothing but the clothes on their backs.
This wonderful lady rounded up her friends and colleagues for donations. She raised thousands of dollars to help her friend start these kids off. Those kids had a great Christmas. Helping people is addicting. Now, you can imagine helping a lot of kids is a challenge, so the pajama drive was born.
Pajamas and Christmas just seem to go together.
There are about 500 foster kids in the Salt Lake valley and about 700 kids from North Salt Lake to the Idaho border. We would like to double last year’s collections to help meet more needs of the northern kids.
Last year overall collections were 525 pajamas, 340 books, and $300.
If you’d like to help at your church or business, just let me know and I’ll send you a .Pdf of the flyer. You can drop off pajamas and books in the office from now until December 6th.
